Who are we?

General Assembly is a global network of campuses built to teach technology, design, and entrepreneurship skills. Seeking an Event Marketing Producer in Austin!

General Assembly is opening a campus in Austin this year and is looking for an Event Marketing Producer to help raise local brand awareness. As the Event Marketing Producer, you will run day-to-day operations and production of classes, workshops, and events and execute all grassroots marketing efforts.

You will be responsible for acquiring a certain number of aligned emails per quarter through partnerships, event programming (classes, workshops, and events), community outreach, and other creative ideas you might have to engage new audiences.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify relevant new audiences and figure out the best way to bring them to GA’s location

  • Grow GA Austin's mailing list quickly using offline channels

  • Cultivate new partnerships and continue to maintain relationships with current partners

  • Plan and execute in-person events that introduce GA to people unfamiliar with us

  • Find and engage local experts in tech, design, and business to lead events, classes, and workshops with us
  • Work closely with our global business development team to leverage partners for local email acquisition

  • Keep track of and report on all metrics surrounding user acquisition strategies

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about (and familiar with) the Austin tech and startup community

  • Has experience planning and executing excellent events that people love
  • Has strong business development chops and is a master networker at heart

  • Is super metrics-oriented, and has experience understanding a target and the levers to hit it

  • Is a highly entrepreneurial self-starter (you can get things done with little direction)

  • Is detail-oriented with strong organization skills (you can handle a lot of moving pieces)

  • Maintains a positive and solutions-focused attitude at all times, and remains calm and friendly under pressure
  • Has excellent project management and time management skills, and the ability to gracefully juggle 30 balls at once
  • Has excellent communication and copywriting skills

  • Is always looking to iterate and get better based on feedback and learnings

  • Thrives in fast-changing, fast-paced environments where each day looks different and responsibilities evolve quickly

Great to have (not required):

  • Experience working at a startup

  • Experience with event planning and execution
  • Experience in business development or marketing
  • Experience managing a budget

Salary: Negotiable
